Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)
Cognitive-behavioural therapy (CBT) looks at the relationship between our thoughts, feelings, physical sensations and behaviours. CBT changes patterns of distorted thinking and unhelpful behaviours to improve mood, anxiety, and other psychological issues.

CBT tends to be more focused on the here-and-now, and is more active and problem-solving oriented than many therapies. It tends to be shorter-term and skills-based and has been shown to be effective with many different issues and problems. It's not a uniform treatment though and usually looks different depending on what's bothering you.

CBT is skills-based, so does often involve homework and engagement outside the therapy session. It's hard work, but it's been shown to improve the quality of life across a number of cultures, languages, and situations.

Valley CPS's therapists can help you use CBT strategies and skills so that you can create a new and healthy lifestyle for yourself. They're seasoned and supportive and will be sure to match the best tools and strategies to your unique situation.
